Do you want to have a friend or family member officiate your wedding?

Did you know that online ordination isn’t recognized by the courts in North Carolina and marriages performed by online officiants are subject to being invalidated?

But...You’d still like to have a close friend or family member officiate your wedding instead of a professional. So, what are your options?

  • Get married by a magistrate at the courthouse before or after your wedding day and then anyone, ordained online or not, can read your ceremony script.

  • Have a professional, legally authorized minister or officiant perform a simple ceremony with just the “I dos” and a pronouncement of marriage in front of two witnesses at your venue before or after your wedding ceremony.

While either of these options will allow you to be legally married, but there's still the issue of your friend or family member who may be doing this for the very first time and there are some questions to consider.

  • Does your friend know the proper sequence of events in a wedding ceremony?

  • Does he or she know the protocols of working with a professional wedding coordinator?

  • What about microphone checks and coordinating cues for the DJ?

  • Do you want a ceremony that will “wow” your guests without creating stress and anxiety for your family member?

  • Do you want your wedding ceremony to be just as beautiful as your venue and your décor?

  • Do you want to ensure that you are legally married?

  • Would you like to have a ceremony created by one of the most highly respected wedding officiants in the U.S.?

Look no further. I can help!

With almost 30 years of experience, I have performed over 700 ceremonies and I can help you have the same high-quality, personalized ceremony that I provide all my couples. Kevin is our absolute favorite officiant to work with! Our company has worked easily 50+ weddings with him and without fail, he has us in tears at every ceremony! He takes the time to truly get to know the couple, share their story, and craft a ceremony unique to them. They aren't cookie cutter or out of touch, guests walk away saying "wow, that ceremony was true to who they are as a couple"! He works with a diversity of couples- he has married our couples of different religions, cultures, sexual orientations and traditions. He doesn't show an ounce of judgement and encourages people to break tradition. At the ceremony rehearsal and on the wedding day he is completely professional- from arriving early to his attire to the signing of the marriage license. I never have to worry if they have hired Kevin!
